Over the years it has been hard to keep a blog going that is my ministry blog and my personal blog all wrapped up in one. I try to cover topics that my church wants and needs to hear all the while trying to cover other topics as well that I enjoy outside of my specific ministry in the church of Take TWO.

Well last night I was given the opportunity to say yes to very kind offer that is going to allow me to have created a Word Press blog. I am excited as I feel this will for once allow my church to be tailored too with the information I should have in this Take TWO blog like: Highlighting ministries, Spotlighting Volunteers for living in a Take TWO way, event announcements, event coverages, videos from the ministry, texting Tuesday questions and answers, parent talks to help and assist them to be the heroes of their homes and int he eyes of their kids and so much more.

Then with my new personal blog to cover books I enjoyed reading, leadership topics, lessons I learn from ministry and the Sundays at my church, my family at times and so much more.

So be on the look out and I will keep you posted as it comes along.

I have more parents and grandparents tell me that they want to know more of what is going on in Take TWO, but they are scared of one of tools we use: Facebook. I am writing this brief this article to introduce those of you who may fall under that category to some good stuff that has already been written by some of the great news resources already.

First let me introduce you to an article by CNET on setting the proper Facebook Security Settings.

Now that you have set up your account or made the proper adjustments to your already Facebook account let’s go and look at an article by The NewYork Times. This will help you see that as social as Facebook may be it is important to learn ways where you can still stay a little private.

Then lets look at the Wall Street Journal and their article on How Facebook Can Ruin friendships. There are definite good and bad ways to use Facebook. Just as with any tool it can be used to enhance, add etc or it can be used to destroy and make mad. The choice is yours!! Look over some of these tactics and bad habits and see maybe how you may keep yourself from them.

So now go and say hello to us over on the Take TWO Page.

I was reading a post by Church Relevance on the topic as the name of this blog post says: “Top 100 ‘KIDS’ search words” and wow, what words turned up.

This data comes from a free search monitoring service for parents called OnlineFamily.Norton. But check this little bit out as well, because Amusingly, “Norton Safety Minder” is the 46th most searched for phrase among kids 18 and under. Search results include instructions on how to temporarily disable OnlineFamily.Norton.

What are your thoughts on this?

Digital Students Today

I have been viewing some Youtube videos and they have got me thinking and challenging some ideas, methods, reasons and more. After you watch these videos let me know what you think? How could this effect your church service? Should it effect your church service? If so, what are some ideas you may try and implement?

Here’s another one that made me stand back and say - Hmmm?

And another one…

And how to take all this and make my personal Savior - personal.!?
